Via I-71: I-71 north to W-14th/Clark Ave. exit go north on W/14th and turn left on Abbey. Take Abbey to Columbus (two lights) and turn left on Columbus. Turn left onto Freeman and the studio is on the corner of Freeman and Columbus. |

| I like your method for teaching the classes. It is not the typical 'pattern of the week' class that doesn't teach the ladies to follow, nor teach the gentlemen to lead. Those classes are usually a complicated pattern that may not be socially leadable. The lady does her 'part' without a real lead from the gentleman, so she doesn't learn to respond correctly and the man never gets the chance to truly develop his leading skills. Those skills come from simple patterns that can allow the lady to 'surrender' to the gentleman. This is a euphoric way to dance for a couple. I learned this from one of the greatest International Standard coaches, Bill Davies. I asked him during a private training session, "What is in your mind when you are dancing socially? He said, "I'm continually thinking about making the dance euphoric for the lady. For when it's euphoric for her, it's also euphoric for me." |
| At your level I'm sure you have experienced this...if the lady responds because her gentleman is 'taking' her someplace and not because she is thinking about her steps....the feeling is euphoric. This is 100x more enjoyable than the complicated patterns that require the lady to memorize the sequence. Just my opinion. |

| Did you know that starting next Wed. Feb 2nd, Fred & Tina will start their W/C classes at ALL ABOUT DANCING. The studio is easy to get to from both the east & west and offers both a parking lot and street parking directly in front of the studio. The studio is in an older neighborhood that is both SAFE & quiet...it is simply an older neighborhood. |
| The classes are from 7:30pm till 8:30pm. After that there is a 2 hour dance practice. The instructors stay for the practice dance and offer helpful and FREE private instruction to anyone wanting it. The instructors keep an eye on all the dancers and will offer unsolicited help which eliminates the need for you to request it. This method is truly helpful in getting up to speed quickly on this fun dance. The classes build on each other as you keep repeating the material you learned the previous class and add new material. It is not absolutely necessary to make every class, but let's face it, you essentially get out what you put in. These classes give a good balance of the 'steps' and the technique necessary to execute those steps. IMHO, the steps are about 5% of the dance, and the execution, the other 95%. This method of teaching is very effective in getting the dance 'steps' into your 'muscle' memory which is so essential to smooth dancing. |
| If you want to learn W/C swing, this is the place and Feb is the month. Most likely Mar. will have hustle classes. Cost is $10 which covers the 1 hour class and 2 hour practice session. See you there. |
